Stainless steel is found in many different forms, and is used for a multiple of applications, from industrial piping, kitchen sinks, to boating parts and pots and pans.
There are two grades of stainless steel most commonly found in Australia.
stainless steel 304
Stainless steel is used widely in both domestic and commercial settings. In residential properties, it is mainly found as cookware, cutlery and kitchen fittings (sinks, taps, etc.) In industrial environments, it can be seen as machinery, guttering, tanks and roofing supplies
stainless steel 316
Also referred to as Marine Grade Stainless, grade 316 stainless steel has high amounts of chromium and nickel. Common applications of 316 stainless steel include chemical processing and storage equipment, refinery equipment, medical devices and marine environments.
